Year-end Giving Schedule

When it comes to charitable givings, I consider myself below average, though I can’t tell what that average is. In the past five years since we started to work, we donated above 200 dollars every year to a couple of organizations such as March of Dimes, American Red Cross, and local police department. One exception was last year when we donated our 1995 Toyota Corolla to Kars4Kids. As 2006 comes to an end, I am planing a couple of more donations. Organizations on my list include:
- March of Dimes;
- The Nature Conservancy;
- PBS;
- Local hospital;
- Overseas China Education Foundation.
The amount will be from $50 to $100 for each organization and that will make the total contribution of 2006 to about $400, still a small amount to help a little bit.

What a great idea. Now I know what to do with my ‘94 Civic!
I’m not sure who you’re comparing yourself when you say your charitable givings are below average, but I say you are at least average to above average. When I ask friends or family about charitable giving, it’s not that much. The same goes for myself. I really do need to motivate myself to do so more often. I’m familiar with the tax benefits, I should take advantage so I may give someone else who needs an advantage…
