I believe that overall dividends and interest income are not as volatile as capital gains. Because of that it is easier to estimate the annual dividend income for a stock portfolio rather than estimating the amount of capital gains you are going to make. I would be interested to see if your dividend and interest income increased in 08 versus 07 or not?
