When I published my ING Direct Orange Savings Account $25 signup bonus post on April 27, I thought it could be a while before all the 25 referral links are taken because, ING Direct, as well as this referral problem, has been around for a long time and people who want to have an account probably already have one.

Well, looks like I am wrong!

Less than three weeks after the original post, I have only one referral left! It’s unbelievable that the demands for the popular financial products are still very strong. Too bad that I am running out my own referrals However, I believe that there are many out there have plenty of unused referrals, but don’t have the means to share them with people who are interested in getting a $25 bonus to open a new account.

Here’s what I am going to do.

This product has been around long enough (probably one of the oldest online savings accounts) and I feel that anyone who wants to have an account probably already has one. Though their rate (3.0% APY) isn’t that great right now as it used to, many value their other features, such as easy-to-use interface and excellent customer service, over their rate. I have been running my RevolutionMoneyExchange referral bonus sharing program, since I wrote a review in early March and a few people used my referral to signup with RME (thanks). While they received the $25 bonus from RME, I also got $10 for each new account I referred. If you want to open an ING Direct Orange Savings account, I have a reference code for $25 bonus from the March issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. ING Direct lowered its interest rate again last week following the Fed’s 0.50% reduction. Currently, the Orange Savings account pays 3.40% APY. If you open an account before April 30, 2008 and use reference code KP339/Z836TZBM, ING Direct will give you a $25 bonus.

Another similar offer is from Citibank which will give $25 bonus for opening a Ultimate Money account before February 29, 2008. Right now, the Ultimate Money account has a yield of 4.25% APY and it can also help you earn ThankYou Points. However, the Ultimate Money account has to be opened together with their EZ Checking account to avoid monthly fees. Finally, if you are a Costco member and thinking of getting a ShareBuilder account, now may be the time to get it and receive some bonus money. In the February issue of Costco Connection magazine, there’s an ad says Costco members open a ShareBuilder account before March 31, 2008 can receive $70 (Goldstar and business members) or $90 (Executive members) when their membership is verified and a stock is purchased. I opened my ShareBuilder account in this way in 2006, but closed it last year because of the high cost of investing with them.

The $100 bonus offer from OptionsXpress is back!

To get the bonus, $500 must be deposited into the account by March 31, 2008. I opened an account when the offer was around before the new year. Now I am just waiting for the free money

Meanwhile, TradeKing is also giving $100 bonus for new accounts funded with at least $2,500. The bonus will be credited after the first trade [Source: My Money Blog].

Relatively speaking, the $100 from OptionsXpress is easier to get: smaller deposit requirement and no trade needed. That said, TradeKing’s $4.95 per trade commission is much lower than what OptionsXpress charges.

Another update. The free book offer from Zecco for any new account opened through their referral program is changed to China Shakes The World, by James Kynge, valued at $10.17 at Amazon.com. Spotted this deal on FatWallet.com and it seems to be an easy money just for the holiday

If you open an OptionsXpress account and fund it with at least $500 before December 31st, they will give you a $100 bonus. From the offer page

In order to qualify for the $100 offer, account application must be completed and a deposit of funds in the amount of at least $500 must be made by December 31, 2007. Those who qualify will receive funds in their account on or before January 10, 2008. Customer may only qualify once for this offer.

Plus, they will also reimburse up to $100 account transfer out fee charged by other brokers if you decide to transfer your account to OptionsXpress.

While I have no plan to use their service (they charge $9.95 per trade according to their commission schedule), that $100 free money is hard to resist. My only concern of getting an account but not using it is the potential cost of having an inactive account. Some brokers do charge account inactivity fee. That, however, is not the case at OptionsXpress, as indicated in their No Hidden Fees page.

I may just get an account myself and earn 20% return of $500 “invested” money, enough to cover half of the cost to run my giveaway

Other providers, however, may have more opportunities, they all require a pre-screening to see if I am eligible or not and I will only get paid if I qualify to take the full survey. So many times, I ended up without anything after spending 10 minutes on the pre-screening questions. That’s not the case with PineCone, though. I always get $5 for about 20 minutes of my time. Now they are using Paypal to make payment, the money will hit my account in two days after completing the study.

Just found this deal on dealsea.com.

CVS and American Express are offering a printable $5 off $10 coupon for shopping at CVS. However, on the coupon it says “Save Time and $5 When You Use ExpressPay at CVS.” It’s not clear whether the coupon is applicable to purchase paid by all AMEX cards. I have an AMEX card, but it doesn’t have the ExpressPay feature. For Blue Card users, ExpressPay is already built in the card, so there should be no problem.

Are you using MyPoints?

Basically, it’s an online shopping portal that rewards its members with points for shopping with them, just like other sites such Ebates and Fat Wallet. In addition to earning points from shopping, they also offer the so-called BonusMail to help members accumulate points if they don’t feel like shopping with them. In the BonusMail, advertisers put their ads and if I shop through the link in the email, I will receive the bonus points. Otherwise, I can still get some points by just clicking the ads. Here’s what a BonusMail looks like:

In addition to products and services (check out their website for details about they are offering. There are a lots, but I don’t use any of them), BonusMail also delivers surveys which pay anywhere from 30 to 100 points per qualified and completed survey. For me, though some product promotions promise a large amount of points, I never bought anything from them. Not that I don’t trust their site or program. I am just not a big fan of rewards points. I prefer to receive rebates in cash and generally avoid using credit card that only rewards points, though in most cases the points can be redeemed for products, gift cards, or even cash. Nonetheless, whenever the BonusMail hits my mailbox, I still click the Get Points button and collect 5 points. Since I joined the program in early 2006, I have accumulated nearly 2900 points by just clicking the ads and delete the mail immediately. Since they usually send out multiple BonusMail every day, it’s not that hard to add up points and redeem them for a gift card (I will need a couple of hundreds more points in order to get a $25 gift card). And what I feel the best of it is it doesn’t need much effort either. Click and delete!
