Another Historic Moment

So I didn’t have the chance to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games live this summer in Beijing, but I did have the opportunity to “witness” another historical moment when I am in China: the live broadcast of the launch of Shenzhou VII spacecraft last night (09:10 am EST).

Shenzhou VII

This is China’s third manned space mission in five years, which also includes its first ever spacewalk. As an Chinese I am proud of what the country has achieved in its space program (China also launched its first lunar probe last year). At the same time, I am also disappointed that a country can put men into the space has failed to guarantee the safety of the food for ordinary people. That’s a shame.
