What Is This Building?

Last weekend, we went to Wuxi (Wúxī) of Jiangsu Province (WuXi Pharma Tech, NYSE: WX, is located in the city) to meet some college classmates in that area. The reunion was great because I haven’t seen some of them since graduation. When we were in the city, my friend also took us to tour a place that wasn’t originally planed. It was quite a uniqe experience I have to say.

Before I get into the details, here’s a question I have for you. By just looking from the outside, can you guess what this building is? Is it
