Daily Giveaway Final Winner and NURU Personal Finance Card Winner

Sorry for the delay in announcing the winner of the Make a Guess Win a Prize last day contest and the winner of the NURU Personal Finance Card giveaway. Was a little busy yesterday

For the last Daily Giveaway contest, I asked participants to guess closing number of all three indices, the Dow, the S&P, and the Nasdaq. In the first four days of contests, we always had a winner making near perfect guess, so I thought I could make it a little tougher to win the final prize because the three indices are not in lock-step all the time. Looking at the entries to the contest, it seems that I succeeded in making the final prize, a $50 Amazon.com gift card, hard to win. The guesses were all over the place. But Jay from Market Folly, who already won the first day’s contest, still managed to grab the last gift card with his guesses:

• Dow: 8,776.39 vs. Market Folly’s guess: 8,763
• S&P: 903.25 vs. Market Folly’s guess: 901
• Nasdaq: 1,577.03 vs. Market Folly’s guess: 1,567

The error for all three indices is 25.57, not perfect, but good enough to win the final contest. Congratulations Jay for winning nearly half the prizes offered And thanks for everybody’s participation that made the contest a success. It was fun.

Finally, I used Random.org to choose the winner of the NURU Personal Finance Card giveaway and Natalie Tucker, who made comment #6 was picked as the winner.
