I am not sure how useful this device is, but since I can make four bucks out of it, I decided to give it a try. Besides, since I only have two USB ports with my laptop, it makes more sense to add two more with this Adaptec card bus.
Buy.com currently Adaptec DuoConnect USB 2.0 Card Bus [Buy.com affiliate link] for $60.99. The product has a mail-in-rate of $45 and there is an additional discount of $20 with Google Checkout. The final price after rebate and discount is -$4.01. Or if you want to get a PCI card instead, you can make a little bit more with this Adaptec DuoConnect USB 2.0 PCI Card [Buy.com affiliate link] for $61.98 - $48 mail-in-rebate - $20 Google Checkout discount = -$6.02.
In addition, TigerDirect.com has a Sony multi-format DVD burner that supports all DVD/CD recordable formats for only $9.99 after $30 rebate. The price is quite good, but shipping is not free. For me I paid $3.99 to ship my order to NJ. The rebate ends tomorrow November 26th.
