if you open a Regular Savings account with a minimum deposit of $100 and link it to you BoA checking account. For the Regular Savings account
No monthly maintenance fee if you maintain a minimum $300 daily balance or make an automatic monthly transfer of $25 from your checking account.
BoA will send you the gift check within 60 days after opening the new account. Currently, the Regular Savings account has a annual rate of 0.5%, which is nowhere close the rates you will get from, for example, EmigrantDirect or HSBC. However, since the account only needs to remain open for 60 days to qualify for the gift check, this may be a good deal if you already have a checking account and close the savings account after you receive the gift check so you don’t lose too much interest that you will otherwise earn from other high rate accounts. The offer is valid until September 24, 2006.
Update: This offer has expired, but there are other sign-up or referral bonuses for up to $100 available.
