MyPoints, Plus a Funny Video
Are you using MyPoints?
Basically, it’s an online shopping portal that rewards its members with points for shopping with them, just like other sites such Ebates and Fat Wallet. In addition to earning points from shopping, they also offer the so-called BonusMail to help members accumulate points if they don’t feel like shopping with them. In the BonusMail, advertisers put their ads and if I shop through the link in the email, I will receive the bonus points. Otherwise, I can still get some points by just clicking the ads. Here’s what a BonusMail looks like:

In addition to products and services (check out their website for details about they are offering. There are a lots, but I don’t use any of them), BonusMail also delivers surveys which pay anywhere from 30 to 100 points per qualified and completed survey. For me, though some product promotions promise a large amount of points, I never bought anything from them. Not that I don’t trust their site or program. I am just not a big fan of rewards points. I prefer to receive rebates in cash and generally avoid using credit card that only rewards points, though in most cases the points can be redeemed for products, gift cards, or even cash. Nonetheless, whenever the BonusMail hits my mailbox, I still click the Get Points button and collect 5 points. Since I joined the program in early 2006, I have accumulated nearly 2900 points by just clicking the ads and delete the mail immediately. Since they usually send out multiple BonusMail every day, it’s not that hard to add up points and redeem them for a gift card (I will need a couple of hundreds more points in order to get a $25 gift card). And what I feel the best of it is it doesn’t need much effort either. Click and delete!
Anyway, this morning I got another BonusMail with this video:

Quite funny, huh? And I got 10 points for just watching it

I’ve been using MyPoints for just over 2 months now, and there a few things you can actually do without purchases, like surveys (as mentioned), or signing up for a free site (like gather.com and kaboodle.com). There was also a couple cool point makers, where I use NetQuote to find insurance quotes for auto/health insurance, and if my current insurance premium is less than what I was quoted, then I get 2,000 points (1,000 for auto, and 1,000 for health).
There are also some points you can make making purchases through them that you would have already done in any case. For example, since I do most of my actual shopping at Safeway, I’ve taken advantage of there spend-$100-or-more-at-Safeway.com-and-get-2000-points deal as well.
In my 2 months of membership, I’ve made just about 6,200 points, which is just about the value of a $50 gift card.
The point values for all the gift cards works out to 150 points per dollar. So instead of waiting to get the $25 dollar card I just get the $10 one each time I get to 1500 points. I have never tried to do any of the offers, I just click on the ’show me more’. I love MyPoints.
You should join the MyPoints Affiliate Program and get paid everytime someone joins MyPoints through your link.
Hey . Quick question. is this available to Australia as well? How do i redeem my points for use in Australia?
