Are you a Costco member?
If you are, you can get up to $90 bonus from ING ShareBuilder if you open an account with the discount broker through Costco using this link. In addition to the bonus, Executive Members can also receive 25% quarterly commission rebates, while Good Star and Business Members get 10%. The promotion code for $90 bonus for Executive Members is SBINVEXEC90 and the promotion code for $70 bonus for Good Star and Business Members is SBINVGOLD70.
In order to receive the bonus, you must make at least one trade, then the bonus will be credited to your account in about 6 to 8 weeks. This bonus offer will end on August 24, 2008. See T&C for details.
There’s also a promotional offer on Costco website, but that offer is only good for $55 bonus.
I have taken several similar bonus offers in the past and used ShareBuilder for a while. But last year, I transferred my ShareBuilder account to Zecco because at that time I determined that ShareBuilder wasn’t a cost-effective way to buy stocks. To reduce costs, I had to buy $200 of stocks a month instead of $100 as I would like to.
Some positive changes happened late last year after ING bought the broker, including lowering real-time trade commission from $12 to $9.95 per trade and allowing investors to invest when the fund is available instead of at a fixed date every month. Though the changes are encouraging, overall I still don’t think ShareBuilder is any better than discount brokers such as TradeKing which charges a flat $4.95 commission.
Anyway, if you think ShareBuilder is the right broker for you, then you can take advantage of this offer to jump start your investment
Update: Check out how you can get up to $100 bonus from banks and brokers.

Great catch! I love my Sharebuilder account and whenever I come across a great deal like this I reccomend it to friends and family.
I’d like to see a breakdown of the costs of Zecco vs. Sharebuilder. Where does that $200 pricing point come from? Does Zecco offer a dividend reinvestment plan?
