I used to have a LONG sidebar so I had to fill up the space so the sidebar won't appear longer than the content. Now I the sidebar is shorter, I guess I can use fewer Recent entries :)The error you got is from the anti-spam plugins I installed. Sometime it happens, sometime it doesn't.
