In the July issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, there’s an ING Direct’s account application form with a reference code which promises a $25 sign up bonus if it’s used to open an account before September 30, 2007.

ING Direct is a leading online bank which offers high-yield savings account (4.50% APY) and interest bearing checking account (4.00% APY). If you are not familiar with ING Direct, here’s a story from Time magazine last month. If you want to see how ING compares with other online banks, I have a post that reviews banks currently offer savings and interest checking accounts.

If you can use the reference code and the $25 bonus, leave a comment at this post with your email address so I can send the code to you.

Note: The bonus is only available for new accounts with a new Customer as primary owner. And one household can only earn one bonus.

Darn.. wish you had posted this a couple days earlier ;-) I just signed up for the ING Electric Orange checking account this past Friday.

While other banks might have better rates I doubt I’d switch away from ING. I’ve had their savings account for two years now and I’m hooked. I really like the interface, the products they offer and feel confident in them as a company who will provide a safe and secure banking experience. ING was one of the first I’ve seen to offer multi-factor authentication.

Now if they would just offer a 30 years fixed rate mortage I’d have 3 products with them..

Yes, ING is quite simple and efficient. They don’t offer lot of fancy stuff and for the small number of products they do offer, they really make them working fine for a lot of people. I only wish they can boost their savings rate a little more so I can use it again :)

I remember the article in TIME mentioned the possibility of a 30-year fixed rate mortgage offering. So look out, it may come soon :)

I have ING saving, now I want to try their checking after reading your comments on their service. Friends around me also tell me they have good experience with ING checking.

Please send me promotion code for $25. Thanks

huwa: Sorry for not being very clear in the original post, but the bonus is only available for new customer with new account. If you already have an account with ING, I am afraid you are not eligible for the bonus. And it’s for savings account only. I have updated the post with this note.

Hello, can you please send me the reference code for the $25 bonus? I’ve been waiting to switch from conventional banking to internet banking, and think I’m finally ready to take the plunge…and plan to do so with ING Direct. Thanks for pointing out this offer and making it available!
