Have you heard about the Chase Freedom business card? It’s the same as the regular one but the cap on bonus spending is $2000/month instead of $600/month.

However, I can’t find it on the Chase website. If you google for “chase freedom business” you find it, but it doesn’t seem to be in the public card list anymore.

I’m going to call and see if I can convert my regular card into a business card, because I routinely spend more than $600 in my top three categories.

I just checked PenFed’s website. It’s DoD affilated so not just anyone can join. However, they have pretty extended membership. If you work for a company at a facility you can join.

Bah, this is why I don’t like most lists I find online of cashback credit cards; they leave out the actual good ones!

What about Orchard Bank’s 2% cash back card (really HSBC)? Limit of $400 cash back per year.

My current system:
•Wamu’s platinum cash back card — 5% back at grocery stores, gas stations, drugstores, (also 1% on everything else; use it for everything when the orchard bank cash back is maxed out)
•Discover for that season’s get more bonus (currently gas, hotels)
•Orchard bank for everything else

And I use a couple of specialty cards for specialty purchases (Amazon for amazon charges and bonuses when they’re running them; REI card for REI purchases). It’s not hard — my husband and I have post-it notes on the credit cards telling us which one to use, and I automatically pay the minimum each month from online banking to avoid late fees. (I also pay the charges in full when I get the bill, but autopaying the minimum means even if I lose a bill somewhere I’m good.)

My goal for the next year is to be above 2% cash back on our credit card charges.

If you have chase checking card account, the 3% is good for top 5 category instead of 3.

The Chase Freedom doesn’t look as good as the Citi Pro Cash (with a 500$/yr max cash-back). Only upto 7200$/yr (600*12) would provide 3% cash-back vs. 16667$/yr (500/0.03) on the Citi card.

…Each billing cycle, you will also earn an additional 2% bonus rebate for each $1 of eligible net purchases made at merchant locations in the 3 bonus categories where you have spent the most…The top bonus categories earning a 2% bonus rebate vary monthly depending on your spending habits…

PenFed (Pentagon Federal Credit Union) offers a Visa Platinum rewards card with 2% rebate on supermarket, 5% rebate on gas, and 1.25% rebate on everything else. There is some limit but PenFed’s web page doesn’t say what they are, but the rebates sound pretty good.
