I'm 20. I've had a basic Citi Platinum Select card for a year. I decided to apply for this card, because it has rewards. I got approved with a $3,500 limit.

All this talk about paperwork you have to submit...I don't know. I'm 19 years old, I applied for this card as my first, and they approved me without any paperwork at all. Granted, I applied as a student, so that might have been why, but I've had nothing but good experiences with this card.

@Therese It seems that it's troublesome to open a new credit card these days. True that the new Forward card has some nice features, but it doesn't look like it's worth the trouble.

I applied for this card online and they sent me a letter asking for a 4506T form to be return for further processing. I have other cards with them, money market accounts, IRAs and checking and everything is great as far as my credit. When I called them they informed me that they are asking for this from everyone, it scares me to think that they have my money and they don't even want to give me their New Citi Forward card!! I wouldn't waste my time applying for this card.

@Brandon: That's a lot of hassle to just open a credit card account. Looks like things really changed a lot these days. I haven't got any new card in more than a year, so it's new to me it became so difficult already.

@Andrea: I am an internet guy. I do almost everything on the web and avoid calling people if I don't have to :)

You have to apply for this card online. I called to apply and was told the offer is unavailable over the phone. I think I'll pass because I don't want to apply for a credit card over the internet.

I Signed up for the Citi Forward card...if nothing else the $100 gift card would be worth it. I got an email back a couple days later asking me for my last telephone bill, one other utility bill, my last W2 and 2008 tax return in order to process my request. My credit scores are 783, 786 and 805, debt free except the house - and I have a citi card already (haven't used it in about a year). LOL - no thanks...I'll stick with my AMEX blue cash and Chase Freedom cards. :)
