Emigrant Direct and WT Direct Interest Rate Update
Post viewed 685 times, 2 so far today
Just a quick update.
Two more banks raised their rates today. Emigrant Direct American Dream Savings Account is now at 3.00% APY with no fees and no minimum. I used to use Emigrant Direct when they were among a few banks that paid highest interest rate. Not any more. Even at 3.00%, they are still in the basement in my interest rate table.
Meanwhile, WT Direct, which just raised their rate 6 weeks ago, announced another rate increase of WTDirect Savings Account to 3.31% APY, effective immediately. I have discussed this bank before and despite the rate, I probably won’t use it because of its minimum balance requirement.
Neither is attractive at the current rates. If you want to get the most of your money, look somewhere else. There are plenty of high-rate alternatives out there.
