ING Electric Orange $50 Bonus Promotion

Just got this offer from ING Direct.

The online bank is running a $50 promotion for its Electric Orange Checking Account. If you open a new checking account before May 31 and use its debit card to make three purchases within the first 45 days, the bank will you deposit $50 in your account. Sounds pretty sweet, right?

Electric Orange is ING’s paperless, interest-bearing checking account (check out my Electric Orange review for features of the account). However, the current yield of 0.25% APY for balance up to $50,000 offers nothing to be excited about. If you are interested in getting the bonus, follow these steps to open an account:

1. Use reference code EM262 to open your Electric Orange Account
2. Activate your Electric Orange MasterCard Debit Card
3. Use your Electric Orange Card to make at least 3 signature-based purchases in the first 45 days after your account has been opened
4. Your $50 bonus will be automatically deposited into your Electric Orange 50 days after your account has been opened
