Got this in the email today that ING will offer 1% cash backs for using their debit card in the next two months:

Starting June 1, 2007 to July 31, 2007, when you open Electric Orange and use your MasterCard Debit Card to make signature-based purchases, you’ll get 1% Cash Back, up to $250 per month, on what you spend, anywhere.

From their website, here’s what are considered eligible signature-based purchases:

  • Any purchase that requires a signature when checking out
  • Internet purchases
  • A purchase that you select “credit” as the payment option
  • Phone or mail order purchases
  • Automatic bill payments from your Card, like:
    • Cell phone bill
    • Electric/Gas bill
    • Phone/TV/Cable
    • Gym Membership
    • Any other bill paid with your Card

Currently, Electric Orange pays 4.00% APY for balance under $50,000. If you are not familiar with Electric Orange Checking account, here are my review and a follow-up post.
