Diana: Strange, but true. And the CSR I talked to said that's part of the system: the system generates the text message for paperless statement and there's no way to stop it. I have been using Tmobile for 3 years, but just tried to stop the paper statement this year. But they always sent me the temporary password vis text message. What bothers me is that they don't seem to care my complain that I am not happy being forced to pay a text message I don't really want while trying to use electronic statement to save them money. If they don't care, why should I?

That is very strange. I have T-Mobile paperless statements for 3 or 4 years, but never received a text message from them about the bill or the temporary password. Cingular used to send me marketing text messages that I had to pay for that annoyed me and I did not renew my contract with them.

I'll suggest calling back and if they cannot stop the text messages going to you, ask them what the number the message is sent from and block that number.

Meg: I don't have that $3 for 300 text messages package because my phone is just that, a phone and I never used it for anything else. The only text message I got was the reminder from T-mobile telling me that my bill is available online. Since that's the only item on the bill, I can easily tell what it is. Of course, if you have the package, you won't see any additional charge except the monthly fee, but that's not the case for me. And guess what, when I registered my account at T-mobile, they insisted on sending me a temporary password via, naturally, text message. And I paid for that message too.

Do you really pay for each of your individual text messages? You don't have one of the $3 a month gets you 300 texts packages or something?

Also, I was fairly certain that Tmobile never charges you for texts they send - like you can request a text of how many minutes you have left for free at any time. Is that not the case? You actually SAW the $0.15 charge on your statement for the alert text?

I'm a tmobile customer and that ticks me off too if what you're saying is true...though i get paper statements anyhow plus I have a 500 texts packages and it's unlikley one text would ever send me over the edge and get me charged...
