Around the PF Blogosphere: August 8, 2007

Some fun readings:

  • Moolanomy has a post on 6 cool financial math tricks and rules. However, I am not sure saving 10% of salary is enough for retirement.
  • Advanced Personal Finance comes up with a radical tax idea: paying taxes once a year. For whatever it’s worth, I still prefer the current method. I don’t like paying one big bill if I can make multiple small payments.
  • Personal Finance Advise argues why getting a degree isn’t always a sound financial decision. Sure you don’t have to have a degree to make decent money, but the value of higher education can be simply judged from the money paid and the money earned.
  • AskDong starts a Basic Economics series, with an introduction to Microeconomics. As MoneyMonk said “Another reason I love to blog, good information.” :D
  • Blogging Away Debt says there are 101 ways to put $101 in your pocket this month. That’s quite some list to save money here and there.

Sun – thanks for the mention. Rules of thumb doesn’t always work. In this case I think 10% is enough if you start early enough and do it consistently. Oh, you have to invest wisely as well — can’t just stick it all in Money Market fund and expect a million on the other end. Thanks again!
