Weekend Linkage – January 17, 2010
Over the weekend, I did a major upgrade of the site, moving from a shared server at Media Temple, where this site is hosted, to a dedicated virtual server. As I noticed in the past 10 days, the site was have a lot of problems, particularly that the pages were loaded very slowly and I got multiple warnings everyday that the site was down, even though only a few minutes. The situation became worse late in the week as the down time got longer and longer and it finally reached the point that I believed that the only solution is an upgraded. Now the site loads much faster and the issues I had before didn’t resurface. Hopefully, the upgrade will bring a better visitor experience.

My site is hosted on a dedicated virtual server at media temple and I’ve been happy. Zero problems since i got the DVS. good luck!
Well, I am not that lucky. In less than one week, the site has been down twice. That’s not what I expect from a DV server.
Thanks for the mention and link for my post “Will A Million Dollars be Enough to Retire On?”
Thanks for the mention!
Seems like the site is working great! I’m on Media Temple too.
