Ben at Money Smart Life discusses what you should know before buying a travel insurance. What I found particularly helpful is “check with your credit card company.” That’s often the case, the same as rental car insurance: most cards have the coverage already.
Lazy Man at Lazy Man and Money suggests that if you are going to make a big-ticket purchase, you should plan it far ahead. What you will gain from this method is interests you earn by setting aside the money in a savings account in advance. What I want to add is planning ahead can also let you can a better deal.
Matt at Binary Dollar says you could save money by driving at steady speed. It could be true that “stop-and-go driving can increase gas consumption by up to 33%,” but often times you just could go without interruption.
Jeremy at Generation X Finance has a hot topic on how to become a millionaire, but there’s nothing like the fancy, quick approach you may find somewhere else. What could be better than saving money and investing wisely?
Silicon Valley Blogger at The Digerati Life offer 5 tips on how to evaluate the performance of your investment. If I can expand it a little bit, I would ask “Do you know, where you are and where you are going to?” A thorough evaluation will tell exactly where you are.
Golbguru at Money, Matter and More Musings reminds us that buying bulk doesn’t necessarily save you money. I believe retailers can make more money buying selling more even at a lower price. When buying bulk, the price you pay may be cheaper, but do you really save money when buying more than you need?
Flexo at Consumerism Commentary has a story that a coustomer’s account ING Direct was closed due to “bad credit.” It’s not new if the account was rejected because of undesirable credit, but it was the first time I heard a bank would go that far to actually close an account. Besides the credit, what else would trigger a close of account?
Mighty Bargain Hunter explains how you can kill your retirement dreams. Well, I am glad that I can still keep my dream alive since I am counting on anybody for my retirement life.
In the past week, I also participated in Carnival of Personal Finance hosted at Money, Matter and More Musing. If you have time to visit, then there are some good ones under the Editor’s Choice. Next week’s CoPF will be held at My Open Wallet.
