Got an Amazon Platinum Visa card? Now you can earn double points on your daily purchases at restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, and department stores.

According to the notice I received in the mail tonight, Amazon.com will reward you double points for every dollar you spend above $100 from November 1st to December 31st. Eligible categories include:

  • Dining
  • Gas
  • Groceries
  • Department stores

And purchases made at the following places are not good for the bonus points:

  • Discount stores
  • Specialty stores
  • Superstores
  • Warehouse clubs

In the fine print, I also noticed the following

This bonus points offer is non-transferable and applies only to the account ending in the last 4 digits referenced.

So I am not sure if this is a selective offer or a general one. You may want to contact Amazon.com to make sure your account is eligible for the bonus if you didn't receive same notice.
