CompUSA to Shut Down All Stores
Post viewed 531 times, 1 so far today
According to Wall Street Journal (as well as USA Today), CompUSA will shut its door at more than 100 stores at the end of the year. Be careful when purchasing any products that carry CompUSA rebates from now on because nobody knows if it will continue to process rebate requests after closing the stores. Even if there’s a buyer for their online unit CompUSA.com, it’s up to the new owner to decide whether to honor the rebates. So it’s better not to take chances.
I bought a laptop backpack last week before this news come out and only submitted my rebate, $17 value, yesterday. Since it will take up to 6 to 8 weeks to process the rebate, well after the year-end deadline, I may never see the rebate check ![]()

wonder if they will have any good deals though
Good riddance!
Hard to believe compUSA lasted this long. Egg Head saw the writing on the wall and became the very successful newegg.com years ago!
Interesting…I had no idea Egg Head became New Egg…but I guess that makes sense based on the name..heh
