Sony Launches Trade-In Program to Recycle Your Old Electronics

Do you have old electronics, like digital cameras, camcorders, laptops, or MP3 players, that you no longer need?

If you do, you can recycle them with the Sony Trade-In program and receive a Sony Style Gift Card with the trade-in value that you can use to purchase your next Sony electronic, either online at Sony Style or in a Sony outlet. In  addition to the trade-in value of your old electronics, from now till December 24th, you can also receive a promo code good for instant savings on these products:

• $25 for any game system towards the purchase of any new PS3 or PSP game system
• $25 for any camera towards the purchase of select new Cyber-shot Digital Cameras
• $40 for any camcorder towards the purchase of any new Handycam Camcorder

To use the Trade-In program, you can either do an online evaluation first, then send in your stuff with a pre-paid shipping label from Sony; or you can bring the item to a nearby Sony Style store to trade in person. I tried the online evaluation for the Sony laptop I using right now and I am quite disappointed that the trade-in value is only $78, a tenth of what I paid two years ago. Well, since the laptop still works great, I think I am going to keep it for myself for a while
